Pediatrician 6 years ago There are many reasons why your baby is not able to sleep through the night. He may need a feed, or he wants you to comfort him or his bedtime routine is not set. It is very necessary that you start a bedtime routine for him to settle at night time and sleep peacefully. Give him a nice calming massage and a bath before bed so that he gets relaxed. Sing a lullaby, turn off the lights, television etc. A consistent and regular bedtime routine will gradually let him know its time for him to sleep.
If your son is older than 6 months, try giving him a soft toy or baby blanket which can act as a security object. Before giving, keep it close to you so that it smells like you.
